With a facsimile of a letter from John Adams to Miss Polly Palmer, dated Philadephia, July 3, 1776 with a cut-out signature pasted beneath the recto and a printed statement on the bottom of the verso "in the possession of Mr. Teft."

Summary: 

Replying to an inquiry concerning "The Old Charter and Ordinances" and suggesting several antiquarian book sellers, including Harbottle Dorr, as the book in which they were printed together is out of print; adding "The newly incorporated Society of Antiquarians, I hope and believe will be very usefull to all Searchers into the Antiquities of this Country. Possibly the Historical Society may possess a Copy of the Charter and Ordinances;" wishing him a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
