Summary
Concerning his retirement as Secretary at War and his successor; informing him that his retirement "from the office of Secretary at War, a Determination which I must beg leave to say I shall always very sincerely lament, that I had His Majesty's Command to offer it to Lord Granville Leveson, & that this morning He came to let me know that he was ready to accept it - I therefore imagine that His Wait will be moved for, without loss of time & that He will wait upon you for the purpose of knowing the time at which it may be agreeable to you that he should take possession of the office."
