Notes
Dating: Olive bore Endymion 12 children, 7 of whom survived infancy. Of the five sons, the two eldest (George and Charles) were born in 1621 and 1623 respecively, and this letter (see the postscript) was probably therefore written in 1624 or later. Apparently, Endymion did not survive infancy.

Percy Clinton Sidney Smythe, sixth Viscount Strangford and Baron Penhurst (bound with doublures bearing his arms in 1837 or later); by descent to his granddaughter Mrs. P.M. Russell (Philippa Augusta Maria Baillie Russell), and sold by her (London, Sotheby's, 30 May 1927, lot 533) to Quaritch; purchased on the Fellows Fund, 1953.
Summary
A love letter, expressing the writer's adoration and discussing plans for coming to see her, mentioning that "if it were possible to leave the Prince I would come to see you [with] all my harte, for I never desired it more in my Life." Remarking that "f my master [comes] not to towne this Shrofftide I mean to come and choose you for my Valentine." With a postscript inquiring whether "you thinke Endymion [presumably a baby son] will bee as grettie as the other two."
