Summary
Congratulating him on his sole proprietorship of the "Visiter," but suggesting that he would have done better to join Poe in publishing a journal in the "Monumental City." Mentioning his "Murders in the Rue Morgue" and proposing that Snodgrass publish his sequel, "The Mystery of Marie Rogêt." Discussing this work, noting that it is entirely based on the real murder of Mary Cecilia Rogers in New York. Stating that it is "worth a hundred dollars at the usual Magazine price," but that Poe would be willing to part with it for $40. Asking Snodgrass to include an editorial piece on Poe's withdrawal from the editorship of Graham's Magazine.
