Summary
Acknowledging receipt of three letters from them; saying he writes "only to prevent the possibility of your being now embarrassed by my letter of the fourth instant. The President concurs with your opinion, that is it not necessary under the circumstances newly communicated, for you to suspend your return home any longer.
