Summary
Commenting on Henley's book of verse; saying "The effect of reading your book is that I want to write verse - serious verse - and the price of that I know, as divine. Ideas of poems flicker through my head every now & then & go out for want of decent attention paid to them. I went to Greenock & gave them a jade of a lecture. Soon I have to come to London to give three;" adding, in a postscript, "I should like to review you; but the M.E. simply won't accept suggestions form me. Also I am in vile arrears with it, not having written since early in December. Better perhaps stick to Burns, which sticks to me; I am going to do it, & then plant it where I can."
