Summary
Explaining that he just received Gordon's letter because it was addressed to him in Boston instead of Concord; saying that he was flattered by Gordon's request for "a copy of [his] head for Mr. Powell's book"; noting that "the few artists who have painted or daguerrotyped [his] head, have agreed unanimously that [he] was a bad sitter, & they could make nothing of [his] face."
