Summary
Concerning alterations in the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and the expenses thereof; enclosing one hundred pounds; asking him to inform R. W. Elliston of the projected weekly expenditures "for the intended alterations and the pay of your weekly servants"; relaying a request from his father that Winston call on Mr. Wagstaff, Mr. Beazley's assistant (probably a reference to the architect Samuel Beazley), and tell him that "the Building is now at a stopp [sic] for the Capitals of the Columns"; adding that he should also be informed that "the flooring of the great room cannot proceed in consequence of the ceiling ornaments not having arrivd from Mr. Freeman"; explaining that "[t]hese are causes not only of great delay, but of great disquiet to our minds, as my Mother has positively announced to all her pupils that her Ball will take place on the 18th of October."
