Summary
Asking him to write a comic song for an "Eastern Spectacle" which is to be produced next Monday; describing the character who will sing it: "a character called Robinson [...] having imbibed in his infancy a strong partiality for the adventures of Robinson Crusoe, is constantly referring to his published Life, extracating the dramatis personae by such means as Crusoe adopted, & ever expressing an anxiety to be on an uninhabited Island, & to undergo similar dangers"; offering to give him the manuscript of the play in person or to send it to him at Austin Friars; saying that the play is set in Hindustan and summarizing the plot: "the principal interest arises from the abolition of the law, which made it a crime to preserve the female Children."
