Summary
Telling him of the desire of Countess Guiccioli to visit Newstead Abbey while she is in England; trusting that it will be convenient for him to have her visit; commenting that he has "found the Countess amiable agreeable shrewd & clever - & Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart (Sir W. Scotts daughter) have met her two or three times at Lady Davys and were greatly pleased with her company. She has taught herself, since Lord Byrons death, both to speak & write English with much facility. The Countess does not intend to remain more than one day at Nottingham;" commenting that he has heard "of the Princely restoration & decorations which have been effected by you at Newstead with the highest gratification" and saying he looks forward to visiting; adding, in a postscript, that "The Guiccioli is accompanied by Count Gamba - a younger brother of Lord Byron's friend."
