Originally dated 28 December, 1802 and redated, in red ink, to read 10 May 1803.
From a description bound into the volume on the letterhead of "The Library of J. P Pierpont Morgan"; "This copy is signed on every page by Horatio Leggatt, Charles H. Pine and William Slaughter, Junior as witnesses and "Nelson & Bronte" on page 1, 8, and 9 - 18, with his seal affixed to the first page. When it was revised and corrected in May 1803 the name of Henry Fletcher (clerk to Nelson's attorneys, Messrs. Booth and Haslewood) was substituted for that of Charles H. Pine."

P Pierpont Morgan"; "This document is probably the original will made by Nelson on 28 December 1802 and was used by him and his attorneys as a basis for revisions and corrections, thus becoming the original (or draft) copy of his final will of 10 May 1803 - which was probated at London, 23 December 1805 by the Rev. and Rt. Hon. William Nelson, his brother."
