The year of writing is not indicated, however the letter is dated "Saturday, 16 Feb'ry;" the 16th of February fell on a Saturday in 1788 and in 1793, two years within the length of the trial which began in 1788 and ended in 1795; the letter is dated to 1788, but it is possible that the year is writing was 1793.
