Discussing his concerns over his involvement with Dissenters; asking "whether the Enthusiasm & Extravagancies of weak Christians have not furnished out some of the most specious pleas as well as splendid triumphs of Infidelity?" adding "If enthusiasts therefore, by their principles, are laying a foundation of Deism (however they might abhor it in their intentions) it behoves us surely to see to it, that we give them no assistance in their word." .
