Summary
Thanking him for his letter "which at once dispelled every erroneous idea that I had nearly entertained from very different representations and conclusions which had been industriously sent up from Calcutta, and as industriously circulated at this place.....For, if words convey a meaning, the Court of Directors must surely be filled with the highest indignation against those men, whose conduct they have so severely condemned. --May the Important Intelligence speedily arrive; and may it contain every circumstance which can contribute to your honor and satisfaction."
