Summary
Telling him of the "great affliction I have had since I left Cambridge"; writing of the illness that she and her husband have suffered, and the "very great distress we are now under for my Son's Wife"; enclosing £225 to purchase "300 & a half of stock in the 3 per cent. what remain I hope will repay you for Mr. Elliston's Ring"; adding that she would like her god-daughter to have one hundred and a half of stock, and his other four children half a hundred each; concerning a basket she is sending: "the basket contain half a Dozen pigeons, a coupel of fowls, and a ham, which you must order to be laid in water the Night before you boile it"; asking him to thank Mrs. Elliston (probably Elizabeth Rundall Elliston) for her letter; adding in a postscript "I wish you to burn this as soon as read. I am so unhappy, I can only cry, I cannot write."
