Summary
Apologizing for appearing ungrateful "when we parted - I could not utter a word of the gratitude I felt & I must ever feel, for your & Mrs. Wildman's kindness and of the gratification I had experienced in being permitted to see dear Newstead once more - & to see it in such hands! it is impossible for me to express even now my feelings on that point - but I am sure you will understand the sort of happiness which it gives me to see a place I am so stoutly(?) attached to valued venerated & restored to my hearts content."
