Summary
Referring to the writing of Ada Reis and the "serious expense" she has incurred; saying she cannot enclose £500 she will send it within the week; saying she wants him to know that she would not "ever take any thing whatever -- and it is for this reason only that when I do wish for any thing for any purpose, I go to others because in all respects I consider you as my friend;" asking about the value of the copy rights for her previous novels and saying that if they had value she would like to "settle them upon little Susan;" telling him that the "Spencers have written to my Papa for the £30 a year (formerly settled upon Susan) now this 30 pd. a year is no more nor less than the 3 per cent interest of a thousand pounds but by him to William Spencer;" asking him to thinking about all of this and call on her tomorrow.
