Giving details of the British Army's operations in Virginia; telling him that British Army is at or near Portsmouth, and troops are embarking for New York; adding that he thought the British cavalry would "go to the Southward," but they do not seem to be heading south; reporting that most of his army is at Malvern Hill, and the "Aëry position and Good water" are helping his troops; noting that General [Anthony] Wayne is at Goode's Bridge; saying that Wayne will come to assist Greene as soon as the British fleet has passed the "Capes"; providing more information about his efforts to secure reinforcements for Greene.
