Summary
Discussing the education of his adopted daughter [Emma Isola] and her prospects of becoming a Private Teacher in a respectable family. Noting that she is accomplished in French, Italian, Music and Drawing, and that Lamb is currently instructing her in Latin. Mentioning that "as an English Reader -- a not very common accomplishment -- our friend Coleridge will bear witness to the very excellent manner in which she read to him some of the most difficult passages in Paradise Lost." Asking Jameson to solicit Mr. Gunning on her behalf.
