Summary
Concerning Holkar's troop movements; informing him that he arrived on the 3rd "where the Force of Jaswunt Rao Holkar had been for some time posted. A few days previous to my arrival, his Infantry and Artillery had moved off to the Northward, and his Horse, under his own immediate Command, advanced to meet me. On the 2nd Instant they appeared in considerable bodies in front and on my left, but were soon dispersed by the advantage of my Cavalry and the fire from the Guns of my Horse Artillery. After I had taken up my present position, the Enemy again collected at the Village of Arrowkie, about four miles from my camp, which induced me to move out this morning for the purpose of attacking him. He was instantly drawn from the position, and fled with the utmost precipitation in all directions - The principal Body, at the head of which Holkar was, took the Road to Burtpore, and was pursued a considerable way by my Cavalry. My next object will be to move after the Enemy's artillery, which, I hope will soon fall into my Hands."
