Notes
From the accompanying material: "The date of this letter is not given. It was written by her ladyship from Clifton [in Bristol] to Mr. Wesley at Bristol, as the mention of Dr. Middleton proves. Lady Selina, the daughter of Lady Huntingdon, died May 12th 1763 -- this letter was therefore written previously to that event."
It is unclear whether this letter is to John or Charles Wesley; Selina Hastings carried on a correspondence with both men.
Part of a collection of letters, prints, and other materials relating to John Wesley. The 44 items in the collection are described individually (MA 516.1-44).
Provenance
Purchased by Pierpont Morgan from the London dealer J. Pearson & Co., 1904.
Summary
