Summary
Discussing ships that have arrived from France after "several unsuccessful attempts to get into some of our ports"; expressing his satisfaction at the discovery of a counterfeiting scheme, and urging him not to "let the villains escape the halter"; suggesting that they "call in the money that is counterfeited immediately"; remarking that "large quantities of counterfeit money has been sent out from N[ew] York," but the money is so "badly done" that no one "has yet been deceived by it"; commenting on his health, and observing that he is "almost wore out" and has not been able to mount his horse since arriving from Baltimore; noting that their "internal & Secret Enemies embarrass [them] much more than is in the Power of all the force that can be rais'd by Great Britain"; urging punishment of their "internal enemies."
