Summary
Enclosing a letter from B[arnabas] D[eane] concerning "particulars you wish from New England;" reporting that the "Second Parrallel is drawn round York and the Batter[ie]s will [I] believe open today - the Batteries on the first had considerable effect on the Enemies Works but I do not think did much injury in Town;" adding that he does not know the opinions of the "General officers" but his opinion is that Cornwallis "will hold out into November;" reporting that [Admiral] Digby has arrived with three ships and "the Enemy have lost one 74 in consequence of the action of this Bay."
