Summary
Writing that two days after joining the Marquis [de Lafayette?], he had "the pleasure of seeing Genl. [George] Washington and the Count de Rochambeau"; remarking that "everything is preparing for our grand Enterprise"; reporting that "the Count de Grasse's Fleet has formed a junction with that of Mr. Barras"; adding that "Cornwallis is fortifying with all his Might at York. I have no doubt but he will defend himself like a brave General -- he must fall, but I think he will fall with honor"; giving details of the build up of troops and the preparations for the Siege of Yorktown.
