Summary
Regretting that "the Number here is so small that it is out of my Power to march a sufficient Number of men to Maroneck as you propose & have so large a Guard here as appears are necessary for the Security of the Camp & Stores there being only Gen'l Wordsworth's Brigade here. If the Enemy are in their march a small Party from here as a Reinforcement cannot arrive in Season."
