Anderson could not be ordered by Hillsborough [N.C.] to take charge of the Prisoners at that place;" saying that he has few men, many of whom are Invalid; indicating that if Major Anderson's men can provide this service, "they may be directed to Join me at Pittsylvania Old Court House in Virg'a which is about Sixty Five Miles from Hillsborough."
