Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight was considered as a possible site for a military recruiting depot and training facility for the East India Company. It appears Roger Stevenson was a representative of or contact for Carisbrooke Castle. His plan would voted down in 1787 by the Directors for the Company.
