Preceded by a signed attestation by H. Buxton Forman, dated 15 June 1912, stating that this manuscript served as the printer's copy from which the first edition was set; that the poem was never altered by Swinburne; that this manuscript provides "one of the best examples of Swinburne's writing that I ever saw;" and that there are no other autograph copies of the poem known to Forman.
