With a poem on the verso titled "Another Sonnet" with the first line "Ah Love -- Love - In vain I scoff. In vain" and being a poem of fourteen lines.
The poem on the recto titled "Sonnet" was published as "The Triumph of Love", xxxvii and the poem on the verso titled "Another Sonnet" was published as "To One Excusing His Poverty", xxxviii. Both poems were published in 1881 in "The Sonnets of Proteus."
The sonnets are unsigned and undated but they were both published in 1881.
