Summary
Asking his correspondent to recommend Admiral Pye (a distant relation of Denbigh's) to Lord Sandwich for a post in Jamaica; writing "Though I cannot say, you altogether promised me, when you left the Board of Admiralty, to recommend poor Pye to your Successor ; yet you gave me to understand, you should be very inclinable to do it, if a proper Occasion presented itself : I therefore hope you will think this one;" adding that he asks this favor only of him, as Denbigh has no relationship with the current Lord of the Admiralty (John Montagu, Earl of Sandwich); discussing a legal case; assuring his correspondent of his loyalty and support for the government; adding in a postscript "My Mother begs leave to join with me most heartily in behalf of poor Pye. He has many very near Relations in both Houses of Parliament ; & Barnaby (with less Merit) I believe, not one."
