Summary
Manuscript with innumerable cancellations and revisions throughout. Text of the manuscript is preceded by a title page, dedication (to Charles Dickens), and preface in Collins' hand. The first page of the text is signed and dated "Begun April 1853," and the preface is dated "Hanover Terrace, May 1854."
