The manuscripts of this item and Forbes's Gettysburg campaign, cataloged separately as MA 125A (2), are housed together in a single looseleaf notebook with a cardboard cover bearing both titles.
The original sketches described in this manuscript are not in the collection of the Pierpont Morgan Library. Pierpont Morgan purchased the sketches and related material from Ida B. Forbes in 1901; Morgan's son, J. P. Morgan Jr., gave the entire collection, including paintings, sketches, prints, and plates, to the Library of Congress in 1918.
