Summary
Asking for the rights to produce "Deacon Brodie;" saying "Had the pleasure of reading your "Deacon Brodie" in my opinion the most powerful play written for years. I should like to try it immediately & produce later in Glasgow with fine cast, are you disposed to have it licensed & give me right? Have you written any other plays? I should like the honor of reading them. This may never reach you, excuse hasty scrawl."
