Summary
Being a collection of twenty-two autograph letters and postcards signed, to William Angus Knight, written between 1862 and 1895, from Chester, Warrington, and Lymm in Cheshire and one letter from Rome; discussing books and writers, especially Wordsworth, friends and colleagues such as the artist James Smetham and the poet Dora Greenwell, their mutual interest in Indian and Asian philosophy and religion, including the work of F. Max Müller on Hinduism, and Davies's move in 1864 from England to Italy and his subsequent return after a stroke.
