Summary
Relating his voyages in India [in command of the "Bristol"] as part of the convoy of ships under Sir Edward Hughes; saying he is "writing in readiness only and shall keep my letter open and unfinished till the time of their departure;" describing their calling at the Trinidada and the scheme for settlement there that was not approved for lack of "good anchorage;" relating news of a fire onboard the "Duke of Athol" that killed 200 men, 150 of whom were assisting the rescue efforts; nineteen men were from the "Bristol;" saying he is cruising off Cuddalore.
