Summary
Saying "The Morning Post Reviewer of Hawthorn and Lavender has picked out the same plums that I did on my first reading thereof, and has served them up in a pudding not altogether unworthy of them - Who is he? But don't answer this, only let me know some day by a post-card when you are leaving town : for I should like to come to see you once more about 5.30 pm - if that time be not ruinous to your work or your peace. I've got & read the "R.L.S.". It is right that you should have written it : such criticism from those who know is wholesome & necessary. I think you would have been wrong to hold your peace - spite of all that the fools may say. Besides it is a joy to read - quite apart from its immediate moral."
