Summary
Sending him a composition; saying "I send for your acceptance - and I have sent it nowhere else - a little wild north country tale half serious and half comic...I expect you will not think it altogether unworthy of a perusal. It will be printed in the Anniversary. I enclose a copy for Mrs. Jerdan and the young Ladies. I hope they got all safe home last night."
