Summary
Informing his father that he has had a reply to his request to the Admiralty to be assigned to a larger ship; copying out the letter of reply from Sir Philip Stephens, Secretary to the Admiralty, informing him that command of the vessel will be turned over to Lieutenant Cadman; telling his father that he will wait in Plymouth to be relieved by Lieutenant Cadman and then will come to London; expressing confidence that his complaint has been redressed and that "I shall not long remain unemployed."
