Summary
Concerning the case of Mrs. [Caroline Maynard] Thompson; saying "I deemed it prudent after I left you the other day, to decide not to communicate with her for two or three days, in case I should cross any communication from her. The enclosed arrived last night, and made me very glad that I had kept silent. There is, of course, an end of it. She strongly confirms my first opinion of her, and I do not doubt her being perfectly truthful. I think she will recover herself somehow, yet."
