Summary
Saying that while traveling in disguise and under an alias, he was stopped and arrested by two gentlemen of unclear authority; declaring that he is innocent: "I was onely knowen by ye name of Edmond Bell, and travailed vpon private affayres of no relation to ye publicke. Nor haue I been an Actor in any military part of ye present distractions;" saying that he then escaped from custody; explaining that many of his possessions were seized and petitioning Brydges for their return or, at least, the chance to buy them back; including an inventory of the items taken, including two horses, several books, money, clothes, a sword, a pistol, a silver watch, and "a false beard to disguise my selfe withall, but not vsed."
