Summary
Apprising him that he is sending fifteen cavalry horses by Maj. [John] Barnwell and his companions; enclosing a descriptive list of the horses; noting that they are expecting General [Anthony] Wayne and the Pennsylvania troops, and hoping Wayne will assist North Carolina "for a little time, in order that we may, by one decisiv[e] blow destroy the power of the Enemy in this State"; offering to help Greene once the enemy force in North Carolina is destroyed; discussing two men in Greene's army who were involved in the murder of prisoners, and asking Greene to send them to Salisbury; passing on the news that the enemy has evacuated Portsmouth and moved to "York & the Grounds on the East side of York River."
