Summary
Writing "I am not ashamed to retract the advise I gave you yt things in this place were so near to a perfect settlement, since I followed the opinion of the gamesters, who upon some good fortune are often deceived in thinking the set their own before the last dealing;" saying that the "Frondeurs" have recovered their strength much more quickly than anticipated and other matters remain undecided; describing the Duke of Beaufort's activities; saying that money is short and members of the court have difficulty paying "even for their ordinary and domestick expenses;" describing the capture of a town and the hanging of its inhabitants; mentioning how closely correspondence between England and foreign countries is being examined and saying "our intelligence grows very lame."
