Summary
Thanking him for sending his "...eloquent address. I wish that you could communicate something of your broad poetical enthusiasm to all our craftsmen. Among all the movements of our time, there has surely been none which has exerted an influence of unalloyed goodness comparable to that which has glowed from the Artistic Renaissance of which Ruskin was, I suppose, the prophet, and William Morris the most versatile exponent. The idea of continuing lectures with the Exhibition appear to me to be peculiarly valuable, as indicating an intellectual synthesis above the plane of mere manual address."
