Summary
Promising to pay the money owing him; saying that they have sent for a broker to sell their furniture, "a step we would not wished to have taken had it been possible to avoid as it must be attended with great loss selling the things for half their value;" writing "It has not been for want of industry or frugality that we have trespassed so long on your goodness but hoping from year to year our endeavours would have been more prosperous & it has been a constant theme of uneasiness to by [sic] under so great an obligation a sensation you Sir I trust never feel;" saying that Mr. Dalziel will pay Romney a call soon with as much of the money as they can muster.
