Summary
Saying that since he did not find Mrs. Abington at home, he has sent her a letter, as Garrick had suggested: "I have told her the very unpleasant situation I was thrown into by having exceeded my powers from a wish to gratify her Inclination, and I have represented the high displeasure you had conceived both against her & myself from this attempt upon what is justly inherent in you alone"; adding "I cannot doubt her continuing in her part without putting you to the trouble of saying what must finally decide the Question, if my Intervention fails"; saying that Garrick's letter to Henderson is "so fair & so full" that he will send it on as it is, unless Garrick wishes otherwise.
