Apologizing for detaining Lord Lytton the previous evening with his "prolonged talk;" asking if she will remind Lord Lytton of his promise of "King Poppy" and the "Ring of Ainasis." He has given me a play in the mean while to read. Our address in Egypt will be hotel d'Angleterre Cairo, whence they will send us our letters & parcels. I hope you will have a pleasant winter & with none of the anxieties of last summer."
