Written from Cleveland Square.
It is possible that Grenville was writing to Bulkeley Bandinel (1781-1861), the Librarian at the Bodleian, as many of his questions relate to copies of books in the Bodleian's collection.
With a penciled note on the verso of the first letter dated May 3, 1836, in an unknown hand and unsigned, "These 3 papers marked 1 2 & 3, 2 being notes from the late Hon. Thomas Grenville - and 2 a note by Thos. Baker - all concerning these & other rare books - was in the copy which I bought in 1867 - of wh. the first vol. was slightly imperfect & stained & therefore a better one substituted for it - & bound to match by Mr. Fosbrooke."

Summary
Concerning Grenville's copy of Bentley's Monument of Matrones and other works; asking in two letters, the first dated May 3, 1836 and the second May 26, 1836, specific questions about additional copies of books which he owns which he believes are at the Bodleian. It is clear that both letters are to the same person as the conversation follows on in the second letter; asking in a postscript to the letter dated May 26 if he knew anyone of the Radcliffe Infirmary Trustees and describing someone whom Grenville sent to the Infirmary with a bad leg whose leg was no better when he was sent home.
