Summary
Concerning his desire to travel in Indian country; saying "When I left Albany I expected I should have been able to make some diversion in the Indian Country in the Winter time but His Excell'y as opposed to the measure judging it attended with insurmountable obstacles - but from his letters hope that he approaching Spring will afford us an opportunity of giving those gentry ample employment in their own Country;" asking for information on "what Branch of the East Branch of Susquehannah runs highest into the Six nation Country - how far up it is navigable & where it empties into Susquehannah;" giving him the name of a man whom he believes may have information on "that Country;" adding "I hear that there are many Artificers at work at & in the Neighbourhood of Saratoga - be pleased to let me as far into the Secret of your present & future Operations as you think prudent to Communicate to a Military Friend - has the Block House been Erected at Sacondaga - & how are the Troops in y'r Department disposed of."
