Summary
Saying "I suppose that you won't care much for my approbation - seeing that I never wrote a line of verse in my life - but I do want to tell you how much I have enjoyed your little book of poems. I will not go into details, because I should very likely write nonsense if I did, but content myself with saying that I especially admire those about hospital life - They are so real - the whole dreary comedy springs up before the eyes & makes the reader shudder lest it should ever be his lot of endure it."
