Summary
Enclosing an etching "...of the Plate of the Redbreast...for my young book, and hope you will have the goodness to illustrate it for me but I cannot insert more than four verses of four lines each - in fact it must not occupy more then one page as my book is absolutely over grown. I know you will do your best for me & let me have it immediately - it is a sweet picture and Mr. Hall was ill natured enough to want it for his next years Amulet - was not that shameful?;" asking if she has seen "Fitful fancies" by William Kennedy and saying "There is rich poetic feeling in that book and promise of much better things- a little too melancholy perhaps - but not withstanding - beautiful; discussing the "dreadful weather", saying she has "...not been reading any thing of consequence lately" and sending her mother's remembrances.
